madebyhafiz
I build LLM applications that cite their sources and know when to abstain.
I'm Hafiz, a Computer Engineering graduate from the National University of Singapore. My main project is an assistant over public MUIS information, scored against a 150-question eval set in English, Malay and Arabic. I have also built a machine-learning prototype for Synapxe and LLM workflows for staff at Masjid Wak Tanjong.
MUIS assistant, current build. The questions are written by me and not independently reviewed. See the limits.

Projects
The AI work comes first, then the other things I have built.
A citation-only assistant over public MUIS information, in English, Malay and Arabic. Every claim links to its source, and it says so when it cannot answer. Evaluated on 150 questions with the results and the mistakes written up.
Independent project. Not built, endorsed or operated by MUIS, and not a source of religious rulings.
Free, non-custodial PayNow requests and confirmations for Singapore nonprofits and small businesses. Money goes bank to bank, and ConfirmPay never holds it. It confirms payments by parsing bank emails with plain regex instead of an LLM, so the logic is deterministic.
An Android live wallpaper that draws prayer times on your lock screen. It uses the official MUIS timetable for Singapore and works offline for about 34,000 other cities.
A keyboard that deletes words from your own blocklist as you type, with a countdown-locked settings screen and uninstall protection. It has no internet permission and collects nothing.
A free Google Sheets template that reads your bank alert emails every hour and logs each expense for you. Gemini pulls out the amount, merchant and category, and the sheet adds monthly tabs, budgets and a pie chart. It works with 9 Singapore banks and takes about 5 minutes to set up. The full setup guide and code are on its page.
Experience
Frontier Development Engineer (AI & Operations)
- First engineer in a newly created role. Mapped workflows across five departments and built 9 systems that replaced manual processes, estimated to save about 40 staff hours a month.
- Built a multilingual meeting-notes pipeline on Google Cloud Run. The Gemini API transcribes audio and returns structured JSON summaries to staff in Microsoft Teams.
- Wrote Claude agent skills that stage QuickBooks entries from payroll PDFs with human-in-the-loop review, and ran the first staff training on using Claude with Microsoft 365.
Machine Learning Engineer (Cybersecurity)
- Built an early-warning insider threat detection prototype for Singapore's national HealthTech agency: a hybrid model trained on the CERT Insider Threat Dataset, reaching 80% recall (8 in 10 insider threats detected).
